    Neon lights begin to shimmer
    In the early evening mist
And the streets are filled with taxis
    A feeling I won’t soon forget
So many pretty girls in this city
Might feel lost out on their own
Baby, you give me the courage
With you I’m right where I belong

    If I should ever stumble
You would catch me when I fall
    If I ever felt uncertain
You’d find a way to calm it all
And if I were ever in trouble
    Baby, you would rescue me
    You would rescue me

    Holding onto your arm
    Walking nowhere, just for air
Taking in the sounds of the city
With you, I could go anywhere
Now we’ve wandered a little farther
And the streets are getting dark
Time to turn around and go back
Find that quiet place to spark

    If I should ever stumble
You would catch me when I fall
    If I ever felt uncertain
You’d find a way to calm it all
And if I were ever in trouble
    Baby, you would rescue me

When I’m with you, I feel safe
    Like nothing could go wrong
You don’t have to say a word
I just know where I belong

    If I ever felt uncertain
You’d find a way to calm it all
And if I were ever in trouble
    Baby, you would rescue me
    You would rescue me
    Baby, you would rescue me
